Chalk artist Erik Greenawalt will create a 3-dimensional work in chalk and tempera paint on the sidewalk in front of the Des Plaines Public Library. Families are invited to take photos with the work and also to make their own chalk art in designated sidewalk locations around Library Plaza.
Entertainment will be provided by ButterBean, a folk/country/indie duo featuring Julie Jurgens and Charlie Crane. ButterBean will be performing an eclectic mix of original music and covers.
Performances: 11:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
