Former Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger discusses his bestselling memoir Renegade, which captures one of the most transformative periods in recent history, and recounts his time in public service. From 2011-2022, Congressman Kinzinger served six terms in the United States House of Representatives, representing Illinois’ 16th Congressional District. Following the events of January 6, 2021, Kinzinger demonstrated an exceedingly rare loyalty to country over party. As one of only two Republicans on the January 6th Committee, Rep. Kinzinger stood against his own party in pursuit of democracy and justice. Steve Edwards, award-winning journalist and interviewer and former host of WBEZ's Eight Forty-Eight, will moderate the conversation with Kinzinger.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
