Join us on a "Walk & Talk" program with the Forest Preserves of Cook County! This program is for curious minds who want to know more about the Forest Preserves. We will meet at Camp Ground Road Woods for a slow-paced hike, with frequent stopping and interpretation, discussing the Des Plaines River and general ecology in the area. All you need to bring is yourself, some sun protection, and your walking shoes!

We will meet you at Camp Ground Road Woods, near the trail access point near Grove 1, so please make sure to drive or walk to the meeting destination for this program.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
