Des Plaines Public Library

Meeting Room B/C

Yin Yoga is a grounding practice that embraces stillness.  Poses focus on the often-neglected connective tissues, and are held for 3-5 minutes each.  Modifications with props will be shown.

This style of yoga is especially beneficial for those who feel they have a frenzied schedule, tend to engage in more active pursuits (physically and intellectually), as well as anyone seeking to work on joint health.  Participants must be able to sit and lay on a mat on the floor during this class.

Seats in this class are limited, so please be sure to cancel if you can no longer attend, so that someone on the waitlist can come. Also note the only way to receive a program reminder or be notified if you are moved from the waiting list is to register with your email address.

About

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
