Tired of the microwave burning your hands after reheating your soup? Do you wish you knew how to sew and that the two issues were connected? Fret no more!

Learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine while making your very own cozy for your soup bowl! Elaine Luther will guide you through the steps, including safe sewing practices, to make your beautiful project. We'll provide a variety of fabric and materials, so your cozy can be as unique as you! Spaces are limited; pre-registration is required.

Registration opens Monday, March 30th at 9am.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
