For anyone who has never been to Monet's garden and even those who have, this presentation transports attendees to the quaint town of Giverny where so much of Monet's inspiration originated. We will discuss the artist's home and gardens and learn about Monet as both a passionate horticulturist and an innovative painter. Learn about the design of the garden, the plants that grew there, and the artworks they inspired. 


Denise Laurin, M.A. Art History presents a carefully curated visual program of photographs, artwork, sound, and virtual tours.

The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
