Join art historian Denise Laurin as she leads you on a guided tour of the Frick Collection in New York City. This former mansion of gilded age industrialist Henry Clay Frick just received a $220 million renovation and reopened on April 17, 2025, for the first time in five years. Denise offers you a tour, not only of the art, but the splendor of the sumptuous interiors in which they were originally displayed. This collection, personally curated by Mr. Frick, his wife and his daughter, is renowned for its Italian Renaissance, Dutch Baroque and Rococo masterpieces.
Denise Laurin holds a B.A. in Art and Art History and an M.A in Art History from Northern Illinois University. Before launching her fine art career, Denise owned a graphic design firm.
The 1501 Ellinwood Street library building is the realization of a longheld dream of the library board, staff and community partners. Located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines, the four story, 82,000 square foot building represents the community's commitment to reading, lifelong learning, and a center for family activities. A grand central staircase and large windows provide a wealth of natural light and illuminate the building at night.
